Challenges
Cosmic Turtle is a new South Devon DJ business with no existing online presence. The website needed to launch quickly, on a limited budget, and start building visibility in local search from day one.
The business also serves two very different audiences: couples and families booking a DJ for weddings, birthdays and celebrations, and festival and conscious-dance organisers looking for progressive, psytrance and ambient sets. The site needed to speak clearly to both without diluting either.
Outcomes
The site was built in WordPress and Elementor using free tools and plugins, keeping running costs low. Celebrations and Cosmic Sets each have a dedicated page with their own tone, content and calls to action, while the Home page introduces both and directs visitors to the right place.
Working with the client’s own copy and photography, I refined page structures and headings, removed duplicated sections and simplified the enquiry journey so every page leads to a single, clear contact form.
The site was optimised for local search from launch. Each page has meta titles and descriptions written around how people search, such as “wedding DJ Devon” and “psytrance DJ”. Structured data identifies Cosmic Turtle as an entertainment business serving Devon, Cornwall and the South West, describes each service, and links its Mixcloud and Facebook profiles. All images have descriptive alt text.
